Recently I heard a lot and read a lot of complaints about few major Boston area dealerships (GBM, Parkway cycles, 128 Cycles) and I decided to look for my bike in New Hampshire. Found the one and the price was much better comparing with the Boston prices! The whole negotiating, sale and pick-up process went very smooth. Salesman Cliff was very helpfull and very nice to deal with. So as I had a very pleasant experience with this dealership I recommended them to another friend of mine, who also bought a bike from them. Got a good deal also, besides that we got very good deals on accesories! I will definately deal with them again in future and would recommend Nault's Motorcycles to everyone out there!!!

Argo Cycles

Phone: (413) (603) 645.0010

I recently Purchased a 2001 GSX-R600 Telefonica edition motorcycle from Argo Cycles of Hooksett. After my purchase and further review the bike is in fact not a 2001 GSX-R600 Telefonica as stated on their website and was never disclosed to me at the time of the sale. The bike is a regular production GSX-R600. Therefore the vehicle I thought I was purchasing was not the vehicle. The 2002 GSX-R600 Telefonica is the correct year that they made these particular ones and in a limited production of 500. The reason I bring this issue up is due too several reasons. One being that is a limited production bike therefore its trade in value is $1100 dollars more than the model I have currently. Second When I go to sell this bike in the future I am not going to get that value and it will be harder to sell with the current paint scheme on it as it is not the real bike and will end up possibly costing me money to change out the body plastics. I have made several phone calls to them about this they took my original call and then avoided me ever since. Taking legal action over it as it was false advertisement

RJ's Motorcycle Shop
Amherst Street, Nashua, NH
(off exit8 of Route 3)

Recommendation: Good and bad. RJ's is great for ordering aftermarket parts if you're not looking for something exotic. They've got good deals on things like EBC pads and can usually get in pads for any sportbike (including italian) in around a day or two normally. They have some nice deals on oil and fluids during certain times and all their employees ride something and can talk tech. For work, they're sometimes questionable. I had picked up a pair of D207s for 100$ shipped with 200 miles on them (nubs on tires were still on too) When I asked about mounting and balancing, one of the employees basically frowned on the fact I had received these parts from somewhere but them. Their price was 270 for a set new. He wanted 150$ to mount and balance. I took my business to Best Honda about two miles down the road and they did it for 80$ - While I'm sure I could have had this done for less, I wanted something local and a place I knew wouldn't destroy my rims.

A few years back when I had got a new barnett clutch, they basically pulled the same gig. I forgot what I paid for it but it was a closeout at almost 50% of what they were going to charge. I'm sure many shops like this offer discounted rates for labor+parts but if I can get something for cheaper, labor is labor.

Overall, it's a nice place to look around and people generally speak on good terms about them. My advice is just to "shop around" if you're looking for work in this area.

Bought my bike there, buddy wiped out whole right side of it, called for prices, insisted I come in, went in and left with a list of parts and prices, 15% over msrp. If you live in Southern NH, try a1 or Hudson cycles if your shopping.

I own a 2001 Yamaha Roadstar, and needed a white wall back tire for my bike. I called Freedom Cycle since they were in the same town I live in. The parts person (Tim) told me that the tire I was looking for would be hard to get, maybe three weeks or so. I told him I needed it sooner since my back tire was bald. I found the tire at another bike shop, but their service department was out three weeks to put on a tire. I called Freedom Cycle back, and talked to Tim in the parts department, and told him that I was able to find the tire, and if they could put it on. Tim said yes, and transferred me to the service department, where I then made an appointment for one week later.

I showed up on my appointment time, and the service person said, "you did not buy this tire here". I told him how Tim could not get it for me, but was able to find it at another bike shop, and Tim told me that you would put it on. The service guy told me that it is Freedom Cycle's policy not to put tires on bikes that were not purchased here. I asked the guy to get Tim, since he transferred me, and knew I did not buy the tire there. Tim denied saying that they could do the tire change, and said Freedom Cycle does not put tires on bikes, which were not purchased here. I asked again why Tim transferred me, and the appointment was accepted. I was willing to pay their $60 service fee, but they still refused. I asked for a manager, and was told your not going to speak with that person.

At that point, I was so angry, I walked out and vowed to them that I would let every rider know how much their service sucks!! I now had wasted a week to get my tire on, and the time I took to go do this. Another Yamaha shop in Manchester quickly did the service for me.

MAX BMW Motorcycles
209 Lafayette Rd.
N. Hampton, NH 03862
(603) 964-2877

Great, friendly atmosphere with a low pressure sales approach. Decent selection of all types of BMW motorcycles and gear. Even a small cafe. Max's opened in June, and he has just finished the outdoor GS track where one can test drive the BMW adventure cycles right there at the dealership. This is no joke. He's got a dirt track out back the dealership for which to test ride BMW cycles. That's pretty damn cool. Max is a true professional and serious about building a quality dealership.

The track is safe and controlled and includes variable terrain like gravel, loose dirt, a mud pit, a few little jumps and ridges, some berms, etc. All the stuff needed to see a bikes true colors.

I showed up for the GS Track opening day and trail ride, and it was a total blast. Max and crew made everyone feel welcome, even those of us not on beemers. Max was gracious enough to let me ride an F650 GS out on the track, even knowing I had just bought a new non-BMW motorcycle (and wasn't likely to buy another soon.) That's pretty damn cool.

I asked where the nearest gas station was before the trail ride, and Max rolled out the dealership gas pump and fueled me up. He wouldn't take money, said "no problem, that's the way we do business here". Well he wasn't kidding. All throughout the day he and his staff kept track of everyone, made sure we all had fun, and kept it safe. After the trail ride in Maine, we all headed into Portsmouth for some liquid refreshment.

I can't really comment on the service, but I can on the sales staff. They are friendly, non-aggressive, and very professional. We're talking a quality dealership here. I have _heard_ good things about the service department, but again, I haven't yet had the chance to deal with them first hand.

Gillie's Cyclerama (or some such silly thing)
Rt. 125 Plaistow NH

I do not know why I keep going back there! I can't remember the first bad experience that I had there, but one a while ago was that I ordered a service manule for my old Radian through thier parts department. One Monday, after a couple of weeks of it not showing up, they said that they would call me when it came in. That Saturday I was out and about and stopped in. I was looking to get a SV 650 @ the time, and was talking to one of the salesmen. I am a fairly new rider, and haven't had my first Big Dump yet, so I'm a little leary of getting a new bike, but the deal for the leftover was reasonable. I was realy after my book though, so I trundle off to the parts department and sure enough, it's in. I told the guy that the answer to the next question would sell or not sell a bike that day: When did you get it in? Monday afternoon. Humm, 5 days, no phone call, no bike sale.

A frined of mine went in looking to buy two things at the same time, a Raptor ATV and an R-6. He was in uniform. He was told " You can't afford that, your a Paramedic", and the salesman walked away.

I was just out for a ride another time, nad popped in again. Closed, oh well, but some guy comes out to talk. Apparently the company that owns Cycles 128 and GBMS now owns this place and every thing is going to be different, words, words, words.... I bought a used GSXR 750 two months ago, called up the next week and ordered an owner's manule. Still not in. Whare is it? "Don't know, don't care, call back next week".

Looking around in there and a 20 y/o blond with a killer bod and very few cloths drives in in a Vet. Walks in and patiently waits for the salesman (a guy that looks kinda like a rat with a mustache) to take his feet off of the desk and take care of her. After a while of being ignored, she politely excused herself and asked if it was "all right to pay cash for motorcycles?". He nodded to her and kept talking on the phone. "well, I'd like to buy that one", she said, pointing to a brand new GSXR-1000. He told her to hold on, and kept talking. What a mook.

I recently purchased a slightly used 2000 Triumph TT600 from Nault's. Everything went smoothly from the test ride to financing to picking it up. They let me take it out for as long as I wanted to get the feel of it to make sure that is what I wanted. They were very quick to respond to email, specifically Ian, and answered all my questions. They made all the necessary adjustments I wanted for free and made sure all the recalls were up to date before I picked it up. I don't have one bad thing to say about my buying experience at Nault's. A very friendly and knowledgable dealer.

Accurate Collision*

* This really isn't a bike shop but they did an awesome job painting my bike.

If you are looking to get your bike painted or any body work done, check out Accurate Collision on Canal Street in Nashua NH. They do an AWESOME job for fairly low money. I brought them the plastics off my '97 Katana with all the stickers still on them. They stripped the stickers off, prepped the 3 pieces that needed it (one of them was fiberglass), buffed out some scratches on the Right Fairing and fixed 2 cracks in the lower fairing. Then the painted it and clear coated it all for $670.00!! I was getting quotes of over $1000.00 from other shops!

The paint job is incredible. Those of you who have seen my bike this year can back me up on this! Jim (the owner/manager) is a GREAT guy to deal with and will treat you well. I dropped the pieces off on a Wednesday night and they were done the following Tuesday (and Monday was a holiday!). I HIGHLY Recommend that you check these guys out if you want a Professional Paint job on your bike!

BCM Ducati *

(603) 524 4898 E-mail: info@bcmducati.com

* Superdave note - I have NEVER heard a bad word about BCM Ducati.

If motorcycle dealers were rated on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest) Jeanna and I would both give BCM a freakin "11"! We've purchased two bikes since 98' from Bruce Meyers (owner) of BCM. The first bike was Jeanna's 98' Monster 750 and the second was a 00' 996. He's friendly, honest, personable and most importantly - he's an authority on Ducati's. He treats his customers right when it comes to buying performance parts and stuff. BCM delivers service excellence! They welcome their customers into the service area when they're working on bikes and they educate you on how to service or install things - which we both found very cool.

Their business is very unique in that they sell and service Ducati exclusively, and unlike most other dealers we've done business with, Bruce and staff build friendships with their customers. They actually remember who you are. Their building is also unique - it's an ordinary house in a residential neighborhood with overgrown bushes all around it in Laconia. There's no sign out front indicating a dealership other than a faded little white sort of sign that says "Duck Racing". If you didn't know where this place was you'd drive right past it. But pull in the driveway and you'll see some of the most tricked out street and track Ducati's around. They have a great reputation and especially among the racers. People from all over the globe (no lie) crate-up their bikes and ship them to Bruce to have performance work done! No exaggeration here - when I picked the new bike there recently, there was a 916 with an Ohio plate on it waiting for Dr. Bruce.

Bruce goes to great lengths to please his customers. For instance, being the scatter-brain that I am - the bank check that I brought for the new bike was made out for the wrong amount (not enough), Bruce let me take the bike home anyway.

If you're in the market for a new Ducati or for performance work or parts, we both highly recommend BCM! They didn't pay us to write this either!

These guys are terrific. When I needed just a pre-spring maintenance on my 1982 Yamaha Maxim 750 they went the distance and made it like new for only $200. They were extremely courteous and friendly. When I needed the clutch replaced, again, prompt friendly service for less than $200. These guys are professional and customer service is the best. Why can't all shops duplicate friendly and courteous customer service, regardless of whether you're a Harley guy or a weekend warrior.

We walked in just hoping to spend money on a bike. I stood in line for nearly 10 minutes while the salesman and sole other customer, who obviously knew each other, chatted about this and that. The manager did not so much as make eye contact with me, though I made it clear I wanted his assistance. After the customer left, the manager answered the telephone, still with no glance in my direction. Some goon at a desk nearby would not even look up when I said, loudly, "Excuse me. . ." We turned and left, swearing never to return to Bike Shop of the Damned!

Best Cycle

Definitely Recommend!! Great Dealer! I received new Metzeler's via mail order on Friday afternoon and called around looking for a shop to put them on my '97 Kat 600. I called about 5 shops and was told either that they do not mount tires that aren't bought at there shop (Billerica Motorsports told me this) or that they were booked till the end of the week or even later (Hudson Cycle - where I bought the bike said August 5th!!!). Anyway, I then called Best Cycle. They said "No Problem, our shop opens at 10:00AM tomorrow but get here between 9:00 and 10:00 and we'll take care of it for you". So, my friend (Tom) and I stopped in with our bikes at 9:15 (tires strapped to the back of his bike!). When we got there Tom asked if they could replace the front tire on his bike as it was looking a little worn - again, No Problem.

They start on Tom's bike first ('96 Yamaha Seca II). While Jim (the mechanic and an MSF instructor in NH) is working on the front tire he notices that Tom is missing 2 bolts on the left side of his front fender! He replaces them with no charge. During all this Tom is saying that he is having the rear brake rotor fixed on Monday because it is squeaking. Jim looks at it and says that the rotor is fine but the brake pads are shot. So, he replaces them (needed to get the part from Hudson Cycle since they don't stock Yamaha parts - they are a Suzuki/Honda dealer). As Jim was working on the bike he was looking it over for things that are right/wrong. He points out good things on the bike (things that don't have any problems) and then he points out the bad thing on the bike - the rear suspension is shot!! It was pretty funny to see Jim rolling around in the shop on Tom's bike bouncing on it like a hobby horse! Anyway, Tom is gonna be up here again in 3 weeks and is going to have Jim replace the rear shock on the bike. Tom decided that he liked this shop better then any of the shops he had been in in New Jersey (where he lives).

While Jim is changing both of my tires he points out that my front suspension is a little mushy (which I was gonna ask him about anyway). I need something fixed in it - he talked about adding springs or something - I didn't know what he was talking about! ;-)

Anyway, all the work on Tom's bike only cost him $200.00 and that included the Metzeler's tire he got. My mounting and balancing of both cost $99.00 which is about what I expected. Tom and I were talking with Jim so much during the work that once he was done (at 12:30 which was quitting time) he decided to go on a ride with us down to Motorsports in Acton and then back on up to Nashua via 111 and 119. All in a all a great day, made a new friend (Jim) and found a Suzuki shop that I am going to stick with.

Oh yeah, Everybody in the shop was really great and definitely enjoyed being around bikes and talking bikes. There were bikes coming in and out of the shop (people just stopping by to say hi and see what was going on). Seemed like a very friendly, customer oriented shop. Two Big Thumbs up for Best Cycle!!

I've ended up purchasing two new BMW Motorcycles from them, and have had a half dozen friends buy bikes from them as well. They have been exceptionally helpful, fair, and friendly. I had a problem with the first bike I bought from them, and they had a part couriered in that same day so that I could get my four month old bike back on the road that same day. Mind you, problems with these bikes are very rare. I've got 16,000 miles between the two of them over the last few years with no problems in over two years. Can't recommend them any more highly.
