The Biketalk mailing list is the primary way SRNE communicates. We also have a forum section which is useful for keeping threads going and easy for a quick check of our activities. We do not do print mailing's. All of our events are coordinated through both of these mediums, including formal and informal gatherings. Our primary subjects are motorcycle related, though we have been known to get a bit off topic at times. Yes, we do have a bit of chit chat, but then how long do you want to talk about tire pressure and oil types?

This is a moderated mailing list.
If you refuse to follow these guidelines, you will be removed from the list.
Please respect these simple requests for posting. We want your input and
interaction, but not at the cost of other list members. There are over 250
subscribers here. Please be courteous.
| SRNE
RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANYONE FROM THE MAILING LIST FOR ANY REASON. YOU DO
NOT PAY TO BE HERE, AND WE ARE NOT REQUIRED TO KEEP YOU ON THIS LIST. THIS IS A
FREE SITE, AND DISRUPTIVE PERSONALITIES OR POSTS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. THE
DECISION OF THE SRNE SITE OPERATORS IS FINAL. |
1) REPLIES - the
list is set up to default a reply to the original sender only, not the entire list. If you
desire to send your reply to the whole list, you must use " Reply All " on your
browsers tool bar. HOWEVER, DO NOT NEGLECT TO REMOVE THE ORIGINAL SENDER. Otherwise,
he / she will get two copies of the same e-mail. It can get annoying after a
while.
2) NO FLAMING - if you
are angry at a post or person on list, don't tell everyone. Chances are, most of them
don't care. Direct your text to that person ONLY, not the list.
3) NO ATTACHMENTS -
all mail must be sent in plain text. Do not send attachments, JPEG's, wav. files and such
to the list. Many of our members use work e-mail accounts, and the bandwidth causes the
boss to get angry. And there are also concerns about virus'. Post the web address directing them to the item instead.
4) KEEP IT CLEAN - we
frown upon profanity on the list. Please avoid using it. The same goes for any racial
remarks. However, we encourage good natured ribbing! If it can't be said
without swearing, it shouldn't be said at all.
5) HEADERS - if the
topic changes, changer the title of the header on your reply. This way, people who were
not interested in that thread will not delete it out of habit.
6) TRIM YOUR REPLIES -
when you reply to a posting, trim off all that is irrelevant. You browser will send all
text, including the e-mail address' text and the SRNE tag that each mail gets on the
bottom of the message as it goes through the server. The server will only
allow a message size of 50KB max to go through, so make sure to trim the
fat!
If there is a problem or
concern with a subscriber, they will be asked to correct the problem. If we see a consistent problem with a
subscriber, he will be removed from the list. Remember, you do not pay
to be here. You asked to be here. All we ask is that you follow a few simple guidelines. If you have any questions about this, please mail
davep@sportriders.com

* Standard Mode: E-mail is sent and received on a per e-mail basis. You will receive any new e-mail when your mail program checks for new messages.
