Ever since I was a small boy (and that was a long time ago!) I knew that I would be riding a motorcycle. I was fascinated with all types of bikes. Dirt bikes, street bikes, it didn't matter as long as it had two wheels. I was the neighborhood kid that rode his BMX around with a playing card in his spokes & made motorcycle sounds. Ok, ok, so I still do it sometimes, so what?

My mother had given me the famous "Motorcycles are too dangerous" and the "My house, my rules" speech a hundered times. I actually started riding motorcycles in 1989 right after High School. I had saved up enough money to almost buy my first street bike, a 1985 Yamaha FJ1100. When my mother found out, I was sure she would kick me out of the house. She was more upset with me for giving the owner a cash deposit than she was for actually buying the bike. To my amazement, she actually offered to loan me the rest of the money I needed. [I love you, Mom!]

Needless to say, I was a statistic... I crashed my first bike. As one of my old bosses used to say, "Life is a learning experience". That's exactly what I did, learned from my mistakes (although it did take me a while). I now try to help others learn from my misfortunes. That's one of the reasons SRNE is here today. To help teach responsible, safe sport riding and to ALWAYS wear proper riding gear.

SRNE was started for many reasons, most importantly was safety (I believe Dave said he would do most of the work). We (I) put together a website, setup a mailing list and added a forums section. The rest is history (actually a work in progress). SRNE has become a safety oriented learning/training center. Many people are safer riders and have developed great friendships because of it.

My current street bike is a 2002 Yamaha Warrior. I also own a 1993 Kawasaki KDX250 dirtbike. My homepage can be found at www.aaroncurto.com
